If you are heading to the Midwest, consider a stop at Harrah’s in St. Louis. The casino is conveniently located approximately 15 minutes from airport in Maryland Heights, a suburb of St. Louis. It is a Harrah’s property, so if you have a Total Rewards cards; your benefits apply.
The casino covers over 120,000 square feet and includes slots, video poker and table games. Originally, there was a limit on the amount a player could gamble; however, this law has been repealed so players can choose their own limits.
The poker room is located toward the back of the casino near the ibar. They spread a variety of games including Texas Hold’em limit, no-limit and Omaha. The limit games went from $3-$6 to $20-$40, the no-limit offered was $1-2, $2-3 and $2-$5. The Omaha was high only; pot-limit.
This year the World Series of Poker will stop in St. Louis at Harrah’s in April. Currently, they are having monthly satellite tournaments for this event. The room also offers several other daily tournaments and a bad-beat jackpot.
The room was very aggressive with a lot of bluffing at the tables. The St. Louis crowd is not afraid to bet; especially with middle or low pair. Interestingly, no one in the room was wearing sunglasses; they like to look you in the eye when they bluff you!
See you at the tables in St. Louis....
