Roadtrip-Seminole Immokalee
If you have to visit Aunt Edna, who winters in Fort Myers, or Uncle Ed, your snowbird relative in Naples, you might consider stopping by the Seminole Casino in Immokalee. It is located off I-75 approximately 30 minutes from Fort Myers or Naples and two hours from the Tampa Bay area.
About a month ago, I played in the Friday Night $60 No-Limit Hold’Em tournament. The buy-in includes a $5 fee and $5 dealer appreciation and there are no re-buys. They also have some very inexpensive re-buy tournaments on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. In addition, there is a NEW Sunday 10,000 chip Deep Stack. Check out the "Promotions Calendar" at the link below for more tournament information.
Although, I didn’t cash; I did enjoy the tournament. We started with 4 tables and most of the players were regulars. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to be having a good time. The dealers were polite and knowledgeable. I did feel at a bit of a disadvantage because most of the players knew each other and how they played. However, they made me feel welcome.
The poker room is sort-of open 24 hours. They stay open as long they can keep a game together, but close when the game breaks up. After closing, they will not open again until 10am. They spread Texas Hold’Em limit and no-limit, Omaha Hi-Lo and Seven Card Stud.
Other highlights from Immokalee include: Bad Beat Jackpot, Bonus Hand payments for Royal Flushes, Straight Flushes and 4 Aces, and free poker lessons. There is also an abundant assortment of slot machines; be sure to use your Wild Card to score points and win prizes.
