Gerald Wallace

With Andy Varajeo wrapped up with a 6-year deal and guard Anthony Parker ready to join the Cavs, one would think they would probably be just about done for now with wheeling and dealing.  Negative.  There are still some rumors going around about the NEXT move the Cavs are going to make, and who it's going to involve.

Reportedly the team is keeping a close eye on Channing Frye, a forward that visited the team on Monday, and even stated that he wouldn't mind coming to the Cavs to play with LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal.  One source says that Frye is also getting calls from the Suns, Nuggest and Spurs.

Another rumor that Bob Finnan of the News Herald threw out was the Cavs moving guard/forward Wally Szczerbiak and forward/center J.J. Hickson to Charlotte for forward Gerald Wallace in a sign-and-trade.  One thing that might hold up that deal is the fact that Wallace has four years and almost $40 million left on his contract, and the Cavs might not want to take on that kind of big contract with next year's critical year for the franchise coming up.

Hickson is still suffering from a lower back injury, and will not play with the Cavs summer league team that starts up this weekend in Las Vegas.  Some say that Hickson is could be working a little harder to get back from that injury, and that the club is not all that happy with the effort he's putting forth to try and get back to 100 percent.

Wallace is a solid defender, and also can score.  In 71 games last season he averaged 16.7 points per game and was 29.8 percent from three-point range and also averaged 7.8 rebounds per game.
