The Cavaliers came out like a house of fire last night against the Boston Celtics, but that fire quickly went out as they fell in their home opener 95-89 in front of a sold out crowd. The team played with energy early on, but then got out of their game as the Celtics had way too many open looks, and buried nine threes in the victory.
Tonight the team looks to avoid another setback as they travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors, who play their first game of the season. Toronto is looking to rebound off a poor 2008-09 in what could be a free agent season for Chris Bosh.
The Raptors have players that can put the ball in the basket, and made it their goal to add quality players this offseason. Coming aboard included big pickup Hedo Turkoglu, along with guard Jarrett Jack and power forward Reggie Evans, and they took Southern California swingman DeMar DeRozan with the ninth pick of the draft.
The Cavs seemed out of sync at points, and there's no doubt that the team is going to have to find the proper rotation with Shaq O'Neal along with Zydrunas Ilgauskas and others. It will be an interesting test to see if the team learns from their loss last night vs the Celtics.
