During last week's Tokyo Game Show, Producer Jun Takeuchi discussed details on the new Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition that will be released on the Playstation 3 making use of motion control. Most notable is the new single-player and co-op content allowing gamers to take control of Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine in events before the game's storyline.
While no details on the method of release were given, Jun Takeuchi did add that Xbox 360 owners would also be able to obtain the new game content. However, Takeuchi had also mentioned that the content would be too large for a download, hence the completely new edition for the PS3. Whether this is strictly a PS3 concern due to the new motion control ability or not remains to be seen, but how Xbox 360 players will be able to get the new content remains to be seen.
The new campaign is stated to be around two hours and should be more horror-based than the rest of Resident Evil 5's gameplay.
