As if you needed further proof that New York is the greatest city in the world, this Sunday, Nov. 15, the Secret Science Club at Brooklyn's Bell House presents the 4th Annual Carnivorous Nights Taxidermy Contest. A measly $4 will get you an evening with the best and brightest preserved animals in Gotham.
Bring along your favorite stuffed friend, skeleton, or preserved specimen in a jar for their shot at glory. Prizes will be awarded. However, you must pre-register Beaky (or Fuzzy, or Slimy) by emailing the Secret Science Club. For more contest rules, see the Bell House website.
If you don't have your own taxidermied critter to show off, stop by to cheer on your favorite contestant. The Bell House will also be spinning what they call "taxidermy-inspired" tunes and video.
The 4th Annual Carnivorous Nights Taxidermy Contest will take place at 7:30 PM on Sunday, November 15. The Bell House is on 149 7th Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Take the F, G or R train to the 9th Street and 4th Avenue Stop.
