On Thursday, September 24, James River Writers will be hosting its monthly Writing Show. The topic for this month's meeting is A Little Help from my Friends: Writing a novel in good company.

At the meeting, a panel will discuss how a writing group can prepare writers to participate in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November or write the novel of a lifetime anytime. The speakers on the panel will include Caroline Parkhurst, author of Lost and Found and The Dogs of Babel; Leslie Pietrzyk, author of A Year and a Day and Pears on a Willow Tree; Susann Cokal, author of Mirabilis and Breath and Bones. And the host of the event will be JRW Chair Virginia Pye.

The event will be held on September 24, 6:30-8:30 pm, at the Children's Museum of Richmond. Tickets for this event are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, and $5 students at the door.
