Section 2: K-W-L Model discussion about mentors and self-mentoring.

To introduce the concepts of mentors and self-mentoring, ask your students:

A. K questions – What do you KNOW about this topic?

B. W questions – What do you WANT TO KNOW about this topic?

Section 3: Anger Management Vocabulary terminology

Class will discuss any still unclear Glossary of Terms.
A. Anger Triggers
B. Anger Cues
C. Anger Styles
D. Relaxation techniques

Section 4: Read Anger Management story: Control your anger with SPAM

A. Teacher reads story to the class called “Control your anger with SPAM.”

B. Story Description: Emily and Mike have a great deal of trouble keeping control of their temper.  A guidance counselor teach them a method of Anger Management that works called SPAM, like the meat, only it is not something to eat. (S.P.A.M. = Stop-Ponder-Appreciate-Moment)  

Section 5: Popcorn Review

A. After reading each target story, spend a minute or two conducting a quick story wrap-up called a Popcorn Review. This gives students an opportunity to share their reactions to and impressions of the story characters and events.

Section 7: Bloom's Taxonomy Discussion - Control your anger with SPAM


There are six levels in the Bloom's Taxonomy discussion question process. After reading "Control your anger with SPAM," the teacher will ask questions from all six levels. The links to each level are included below:
Level 1 - Ask the Knowledge Questions.
Level 2 - Ask the Comprehension Questions.
Level 3 - Ask the Application Questions.
Level 4 - Ask the Analysis Questions.
Level 5 - Ask the Synthesis Questions.
