That's it, it's time to take Arnold to the mats! The Governor intends to take away an additional five percent fromstate workers, on top of the three furlough days he has imposed. This would mean that state workers would lose over 48 days of pay a year...more than two months.  During negotiations with the state the governator's attorney stated that state employees were not faced with dire circumstances, that this did not entail an emergency because he hasn't "heard of any state workers losing their homes or living out of their cars yet." YET? So they will only make provisions after the fact? Today stateworkers have joined together to declare war. Joined in solidarity taking all the necessary action including a strike vote. The governor has gone on to state that if the five percent does not pass he will suggest yet another furlough day which would total 4 furlough days a year! Our state can not afford this! The people of California can not afford to be continuously denied critical services. State workers deserve to be valued and we are all joining together in an effort to hold our governor accountable and come up with a fair responsible budget to working families. I know for the most part I write about healthcare but this is an emergency and deserves the respect and notice of such. State workers provide CalWorks, Mental Health Services, Unemployment, motor vehicle registration, disability determination, nurses and teachers in corrections, our state insurance fund providers and on and on and on.
