Sleepless in Seattle

The characters meet for the last 5 minuets of the film and yet "Sleepless in Seatle" the 1993 Tom Hanks- Meg Ryan vehicle is set to hit the Broadway boards in 2010. Have writers lost the notion of original ideas? Composer/lyricist Leslie Bricusse (Jekyll & Hyde, Victor/Victoria, Stop the World – I Want to Get Off and Willy Wonka) has signed on to write the score. The movie’s Oscar-nominated co-author Jeff Arch will write the book. Producer David Shor and director My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Joel Zwick, is set to direct. Eighteen songs have already been written with more on the way, so this seems like a sure thing. Sleepless in Seattle aims for a first reading in May. Casting has yet to be announced.
