Christmas at Rockerfeller Center

Tonight a 72-foot Norway spruce gets its lights turned on, as New York City turns into a giant parking lot. All eyes will tune in on Christmas in Rockerfeller Center to see this beloved site. Appearances include Harry Connick Jr.(Pajama Game), The Broadway Kids,Tony Bennett, Jamie Foxx,  Rascal Flatts, "American Idol" David Cook and Rosie O'Donnell (Grease). Brittany was scheduled to appear live but now it is via a pre taped message. This is the 76th annual tree lighting. Swarovski will provide the tree-topping star. Yesterday on the Today show, singer Fergie unveiled the star at Rockefeller Plaza. The star is 550 lbs., 9.5 feet tall and comprised of 25,000 crystals. Swarovski is also donating $250,000 from the sales of its holiday ornaments to Clothes Off Our Back. Founded by Jane Kaczmarek ("Malcolm in the Middle," "Raising the Bar") and hubby Bradley Whitford ("The West Wing," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip"), Clothes Off Our Back hosts charity auctions showcasing today's hottest celebrity attire. Items are put up for bid to the public with proceeds going to benefit children's charities. To celebrate the Rockefeller Center tree, celebrities such as Jennifer Garner, Ellen DeGeneres, Teri Hatcher and others have decorated Swarovski star ornaments for auction and you can see and bid on their designs here.
