
Williamson County Commissioner Valerie Covey, who has led the county’s Adopt-a-Unit program in support of the troops at Ft. Hood in conjunction with Congressman John R. Carter (R-Round Rock), announced late today that the previously scheduled cookie drive for the troops in honor of Veteran’s Day is still on and more important than ever. In the statement released today, she said, “Thank you for your continued commitment and support to our soldiers and their families. This email is to inform you that we will still be taking cookies to our soldiers for Veteran's Day. If you have not signed up, it is not too late. If you would like to bake a dozen cookies, package them and write a thank you note for a soldier you may still do so until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9.
