Man pleads not guilty to slaying family.

Mesac Damas has pleaded not guilty to six counts of first-degree murder.

He is accused with slashing the throats of his wife and five children.

Their bodies were discovered Sept. 19 at the family’s Florida town house.

After the killings, Damas flew to his native Haiti, where he was arrested.

Damas did not appear in a Naples court today for the brief arraignment. He already had entered a not-guilty plea.

He is charged with the deaths of his wife Guerline, 32, and their five children, ages 19 months to 9 years.

He allegedly admitted to a reporter that he committed the slayings, and he told investigators that "bad spirits" made him do it.
