What could this mean, if anything?

People have always said that "things" happen for a reason. If that is true, I don’t know, but I do believe that whatever does go down it is up to us to figure out why and what it means to each of us could be something different. What follows is a story from a friend that I wanted to share; I feel this could spark some good discussion.
Now many people out there never put any credence into psychic abilities or experiences. Just because you cannot touch it does not take away the viability of these abilities. A local group was investigating an abandoned theater. While in this location one member was getting some pretty heavy "feelings" and was starting to feel very sick. Sam had the impression that whatever was there did not want him there and was letting him know that. There were several members the group that night, each with some level of psychic ability but for whatever reason he was the only one that was being affected in a negative manner.
During the investigation he contacted the one member of their group they do categorize as a talented psychic/sensitive; John, to ask for his opinion on what was going on. There was a major storm in the area that night which may have contributed to this next line or not. Every time he went to ask him what was with them at this particular location the phone line would go dead. This happened 3 times during their conversation. Long and short this entire situation was discussed with the team that there was a feeling of being uncomfortable and not feeling well. As a team they decided to continue and follow thru with the investigation.
The bad feelings continued as did the overwhelming heat that Sam was experiencing. He would just be sitting there and was covered in sweat from head to toe; the temperature of the location was the mid-sixties. Not even warm by any stretch of the imagination. Well they finished the investigation and one of their members smudged Sam prior to them getting into the car as a safety precaution.
They took their normal amount of time reviewing the evidence and were amazed at what they caught. There were several EVP’s (electronic voice phenomenon) captured. Many of which were aimed in a negative way at Sam. There was name calling and sarcasm etc all direct at Sam personally.
A few weeks had passed and one day when John was talking with Sam and he mentioned that he was trying to figure out what actually happened to him that night in the theater, but he was pretty sure that there was an "older" spirit there and there for Sam. He believed this occurrence was meant as a warning to Him. Obviously the first question was what warning, meaning for what exactly. John said that there is going to be a family contacting the group and as they do, they were going to go out to help them and the nemesis would be this particular spirit and that this will more than likely occur prior to the Christmas holidays. Whoever this spirit is doesn’t want our involvement in this particular case.
Well now being armed with this information another talented member of their group, Jane, confirmed the same thing to Sam. She also mentioned that by having this information he needed to be more aware of wherever he went to be properly protected.
Sam was hospitalized this past week due to shortness of breath. This happened suddenly and he had no idea as to what was happening as it was occurring. He spent a few days in the hospital for them to come to him and say there is nothing they can find wrong. Everything from a heart attack to blood clots etc was looked at in detail. But whenever he described the "feeling" he was experiencing during this event not many people paid attention to him saying he felt a pressure in or on his throat.
Anyway what no one knows is that prior to having this occurring to him, Sam saw someone or something in the room with him. This person did not want to be seen and they were keeping themselves just outside of his line of vision. Being an investigator he tried averted vision to gain a better focus on whatever was there, but he couldn’t do it. So he brushed this off and continued with his day only to have this happen minutes after he saw this figure.
When the group was informed that Sam was in the hospital, John sensed that this may have been tied to this nemesis. Sam had texted him a few days earlier asking for him to be at an upcoming investigation that was beginning to weigh heavily on his mind. He was thinking there could be a confrontation at this particular case, why he didn’t know. Interestingly enough while he was in the hospital they received a phone call from this client asking to reschedule. This investigation ended up getting cancelled.
