DNA evidence has linked a man arrested after alleging attacking a Mission Valley woman on Wednesday to a series of similar robberies and sexual assaults targeting young Asian women, San Diego police said.

Six of seven alleged victims of Thomas Parker, 39, of Tierrasanta, were of Asian descent, San Diego police said.

Parker, owner of It's a Grind coffee shop in Little Italy, was arrested after being chased into a Mission Valley shopping center in Mission Valley following the latest attack at 1:30 p.m.

An off-duty Border Patrol agent helped in the chase, making the arrest, police said.

Parker is suspected of similar assaults in Carmel Valley, Tierrasanta, the College area and near UC San Diego,

Parker is being held in San Diego County Jail on $5 million bail. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday in San Diego Superior Court.
