A classic navy-style dark, rich, full-flavored rum, British Navy Pusser's Rum is the key ingredient in the famous Painkiller trademarked cocktail.

The British Royal Navy was famous for issuing a ration of rum (a tot of grog) to their sailors each day, which began after they took Jamaica in 1655 until "Black Tot Day" on July 31, 1970.
In 1979, under the direction of chairman Charles Tobias, Pusser's began reproducing this legendary navy rum in Tortola, making it available to the public for the first time. British Navy Pusser's Rum at 84 proof is the same Admiralty blend of five West Indian rums issued onboard British warships. It is a rum made largely in legacy wooden pot stills, the distillation process similar to that used a century ago for small batch single malt scotches, which produces greatly enhanced flavor.
This medium bodied deep orange amber rum offers heady aromas of citrus candy, molasses, vanilla, sassafras, varnish and smoked honey. On the palette, bold flavors of old oak, tropical fruit, caramel and sherry are apparent. The warm finish is long lasting, slightly peppery and somewhat sweet.
Pusser's also produces a 15 year old version of its Navy Rum, and several collectable versions in ceramic vessels.
The Royal Navy Sailor's Fund, a naval charity more commonly called the "Tot Fund" receives a substantial donation from the sale of each bottle of British Navy Pusser's Rum.
The rums are imported into the U.S. and marketed by Shaw-Ross International Importers.
