On today's episode of The View, Joy (a single mom) made a comment about growing up in an Italian neighborhood. Joy said that, on Halloween, people gave out money to trick-or-treater's rather than candy. This is a tradition, or was when she was a child if it is not now. Coins are a great alternative to Halloween candy, though not all single moms in the Bangor area can afford this. Or can they?

How much do you spend on Halloween candy to hand out to children? How many children do you normally see on Halloween? Determine from your answers how much you spend on each child. Would it be possible to give them money instead? Children love money. Maybe you can give them a few coins instead of sweets.
