There are single moms in the Bangor area who will not be having their children this Halloween. For many of these moms, it is because their children will be with dad. If this is the case for your family, take heart. The list below will give you ideas for celebrating this last week of Halloween.

Child-Friendly Ideas:

  • Decorate outside with your children.
  • Bake something for Halloween with your children.
  • Watch Halloween themed movies with your children.
  • Go to a Halloween party with your children.
  • Buy their costume, allowing them to shop with you.
  • Talk to them about Halloween safety, including candy and costume safety.
  • Throw a Halloween party at your home.
  • Visit a haunted house with your children.
  • Play Halloween music throughout the week, while cooking or making Halloween crafts or costumes.

While you can still dress up and pass out candy on Halloween by yourself, there are other activities that you could enjoy as well. You may wish to do something with other single moms, friends, family or alone.

  • Have a scare-athon movie marathon, with popcorn and other treats.
  • Visit Salem, Massachusetts and join in on the Witch Cities Halloween festivities.
  • Watch a scary movie at the theatre.
  • Go to a friends Halloween party for adults.
  • Have a pamper yourself evening.
  • Volunteer at a haunted house or another Halloween festivity.

Being without children on Halloween can be hard to handle but, if you have plans and are excited about them, you will get through the evening without getting to upset.
