October is Vegetarian Awareness Month. In general, vegetarians do not eat meat. There are different types of vegetarianism, but this article will concentrate on foods that have ingredients that do not include meats.

There are many recipes on the web. Frugal Recipes is a blog with a wide variety recipes, including some vegetarian options. Many recipes that the single mom can make with her children are as follows:

You can create soups in pumpkin bowls. Try some of the vegetarian recipes in the article. You will also find some ideas in the How to Use Up Canned Tomatoes post on the blog. The Rice Add-Ons post has vegetarian options as well.

Other vegetarian ideas can be found in these posts: Pasta Add-Ons, Lasagna Add-Ins, How to Use Up Snap Peas and Green Beans, How to Use Up Cucumber, How to Use Up Fresh Spinach, and How to Use Up Zucchini.

Strawberry Salad is a yummy idea, and is quick and easy to create.

A Garden Vegetable Salad is another good idea.

If you are creating food options for a crowd, why not try fruit and vegetable platter.

A Vegetable Plate would be great as a school or work lunch.

A Deluxe Soup makes a wonderful cold day lunch. Your children would love some of the Vegetable Mix-Up Stew/Soup variations. They will also enjoy a Black Bean Soup slowcooked in the Crock Pot. A Yummy Summer Salad would go well with any of these soups, as would a Simple Salad.

A Rice Medley with one of the suggested vegetable combination add-ins would make a great dinner. Try Yesterday's Garden Salad with this dish. A Watermelon Salad would be another great option.

A Cucumber Salad is easy to make.

As you can see, there are many vegetarian options available. Your family members do not have to be vegetarian to enjoy vegetarian foods.
