iPod Touch 3G with Camera

Michael Arrington, from Techcruch.com wrote an article for The Washington Post where he speculates that the next model of iPod will include a camera similar to the one in the iPhone 3G.

Sources in Asia have told The Washington Post that a massive order for $10 cameras has been ordered by Apple.

The iPod Touch currently runs on the same operating system that the iPhone does, so it seems natural that the next model would contain a camera. Whether it will be a regular camera like the iPhone 2G and 3G or a video camera like the iPhone 3GS is something to ponder.

The website, MacRumors, has found two cases online for iPods that contains a slot for a camera eye. One that was found on Uxsight.com, would fit an iPod Touch,  and is pictured to the right. The other was found on Deal Extreme and would fit an iPod Nano.

What is being reported by Arrington as such a massive order of camera lenses from Apple suggests it is likely that the lower end iPods will be given cameras along with the iPod Touch.
