Rain this morning on Maryland's Most Powerful Doppler- ABC2

My forecast for today was crucial.  Not just because it is Saturday, but a friend was going to a wedding in Perry Hall at noon.  I had mentioned a good chance of rain on TV, but it looks like most of the rain fell this morning.  At around 9 this morning, the radar here showed the rain breaking up, with the solid line south and east of I-95.  So while it was wet early, it may actually be a good thing.  since it came in sooner, it means that it will get out of here sooner as well.  That means there is a chance of some clearing this afternoon.  Rain on a wedding day is good luck (it happened to me), but when it stops early, and gets out of the way, that's even better!  There may be a stray shower afternoon, but our chance of rain goes way down from here.

This is part of a much larger system that was responsible for that blizzard in the norther plains Thursday.  The cold air has wrapped all around the Low Pressure, and it is winding down, but still dropping snow showers around the Great Lakes.  Madison Wisconsin, which had a record snow season last winter, just had their first flakes this morning.  While the snow will not reach us this time, it will bring in a reality check, and drop up back into the 50s for the next few days.

By the way, this is my crude attempt to analyze surface features from home.  A true testament to the graphics we have at the station.

There is another storm in pipeline, but the models have changed their projections.  What looked like a Wednesday storm for us, but be more like a Friday thing.  It's a matter of the all the conditions coming together at the right time.  I'll have more on that tomorrow.
