In this day and age of so many kids growing up with a take-take-take attitude, it’s very important to teach them how to give.  Teens can be actively involved in volunteering in a variety of ways, from donating items, cash or time.  By giving a little each month the teens are making a great impact on the organization, and in return they feel good about what they have done.  Also, many Colleges, Universities and Scholarship programs ask about Volunteer work the student has done the last few years.  It’s a very important, and often vital part of being accepted or moving along to the next step in the application process.

There are many volunteering opportunities our Minneapolis and St. Paul communities have.  Some may require brief training, and others require scheduling.  All require a little dedication of time in reward of a great feeling!

Feed My Starving Children   Go as a family, or gather a small group of your child’s friends.
Ronald McDonald House   Family opportunities and variety of ways to help or donate.
Hospitals   Family Birth Center, Emergency Department, K-9 Pet Therapy, Gift Shop and more.
Toys For Tots   Sponsor a toy drive among neighbors, friends, coworkers.
Relay For Life   Raise funds, organize a team, volunteer & participate at walk.
