Imagine seeing central Florida on a whole new level.  Step into Fantasy of Flight and witness aviation history.  Not only does this offer a fifteen minute flight in a Biplane, and three hour hot air balloon ride, but visitors get to see over forty different types of airplanes throughout the museum.
Anyone interested in flying a Corsair Fighter can do so in the cockpit of a videogame simulator; aspiring pilots can also fly hang gliders or participate in the hands on section where one can board an authentic B-17 Flying Fortress.
Fantasy of Flight also offers a guided tram tour detailing the airfield and maintenance hangers where planes are restored.  Plus, if weather is permitting, guests can witness aerial demonstrations.
Founded by Kermit Weeks in Polk City, the museum also offers a multi-media exhibit about the Tuskegee Airmen, including interviews with original airmen; just another example of Weeks’ passion for all things aviation.
Hungry aviators can stop by the Compass Rose to refuel.  This diner is designed to resemble those in airports during the 1930’s and 1940’s and of course as an airplane themed short-order menu.
So, anyone interested in the history of aviation or curious about the techniques in flying a plane should take I-4 thirty-five minutes West of Orlando to Fantasy of Flight.
