Homeschooling families from all across California will be flocking to Long Beach this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the 2009 CHEA Christian Home Educators Convention.  

More than 60 workshops will be offered on a variety of homeschooling topics – teaching methods and approaches, academic subjects, Biblical parenting, junior high and high school, legal updates, learning disabilities, and general homeschooling encouragement.
 
Dates: July 9, 10 & 11, 2009
 
Location: Long Beach Convention Center (map)
300 East Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802
           
Cost: CHEA Members: $90 for Friday or Saturday only, $105 for both days
Non-members: $120 for Friday or Saturday only, $135 for both days
Spouses attend free
 
Parking: $10 cars, $24 buses

Exhibit Hall:
 
More than 220 exhibit booths will offer one-stop shopping for homeschool curriculum, supplies, and resources.
 
The exhibit hall opens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, for CHEA members only.
The exhibit hall opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 10 & 11,  for all convention attendees.
 
Children’s Convention:
 
The theme of the two-day Children's Convention is “Pirates of the Cranium,” and is geared for kids ages 4-11. The cost is $40 per child for one day, and $80 per child for both days.
 
Teen Convention:
 
This year's theme for the Teen Convention is "Management Skills for a Lifetime," and is open to all teens ages ages 12-18. CHEA members pay $30 per teen for one day, $40 per teen for both days. Cost for non-members is $32 per teen for one day, and $42 per teen for both days.
