Violent crime and your family, true crime stories
Last year there were more then 2.5 million incidents of American's using a firearm to protect themselves. Yet we do not read about these incidents unless there is an unsatisfactory result for the victim. The media loves to play the victim trying to defend themselves only to be injured or killed with their own handgun. Yet every year there are over 2 million incidents where the victim stopped the violent attack by displaying a firearm, many times never needing to fire it.

Grove City, Ohio
Victim Shoots Would-Be Robber
Police said that a robbery victim acted in self-defense when he shot a man who was trying to rob him late on a Monday morning behind a Wendy's restaurant.
Investigators stated that a man was walking his dog when another man approached him with a gun and demanded his wallet.
The victim complied and then pulled out his own gun, shooting the accused robber who ran to a nearby neighborhood where he collapsed.
Bromley, Alabama
13 year old shoots Father to protect his Mother
BROMLEY, Ala. -- A 13-year-old boy shot his father to protect his mother from harm, authorities said.
The boy shot his father in the arm and side after the father threatened his mother with a 9 mm pistol.
"We believe Mr. Pruitt was attempting to shoot Mrs. Pruitt," Police said. "Their 13-year-old son came to the aid of his mother with a 20-gauge shotgun."
Springfield, Ohio
Home invader shot and killed by homeowner
A man was shot and killed during a home invasion attempt.
Police say three black males wearing hooded sweatshirts and Halloween masks broke into the home. The homeowner proved he wasn't helpless even though the odds were against him. The homeowner fired at the armed invaders, killing one, sending the other two fleeing.
