Omaha Royals starting pitcher Lenny DiNardo was named today to the 2009 All-PCL Team. He’s the first Royals player to be named to the team since 2005 when Aaron Guiel got the nod. DiNardo is 10-5 this season with a 3.33 ERA. He’s been even better at Rosenblatt Stadium—going 5-2 with a 1.43 ERA. The 29-year-old lefty has been a part of six shutouts this season.
As well as he has performed, he’s still waiting to hear from Kansas City, which is rather odd given how much their bullpen has struggled this season. DiNardo has appeared in 89 games at the Major League level over the past five seasons—three with Boston and two with Oakland—and 60 of those appearances have been out of the bullpen.
