Kim Koeller and the team at Gluten-Free Passport have done it again! They just introduced a new iPhone app for the allergen free set - not just for the gluten-free crowd. Here are the features of the new amazing application:

    • Select from one or any combination of 10 common food allergens: corn, dairy, eggs, fish, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat
    • Personalize these 10 allergens for yourself and others
    • Choose from 3 international restaurant cuisines:  Indian, Italian and Steak & Seafood
    • Explore 86 menu item choices, organized in a meal course format and dynamically customized to your allergens
    • View color coded-columns and descriptions to determine which dishes you can consider based on your concerns
    • Discover 79 ingredients, food preparation techniques and cross contamination concerns
    • Prepare yourself with critical questions to ask for ordering safe meals in restaurants
    • Learn about culinary practices, sauces and allergen/gluten considerations by cuisine
    • Understand eating out factors for both guests & restaurants
    • Work offline with no connectivity required
Kim's book "Let's Eat Out!" will help you learn to eat out anywhere in the world safely and avoid any and all allergens you can't tolerate. She is amazing and my review of her excellent book (the newest edition) will be posted soon.
