I’ve been dating the same person for about 8 months now and the more I get to know this person I see that most of their past loves were straight. It may sound crazy but knowing this is starting to make me feel insecure in our relationship. Should I go out of my comfort zone and go straight or should I keep my hair in it’s natural state? Kimberly - Washington, DC.

You don’t have to add chemicals to your hair to go straight. Furthermore, never allow anyone to make you feel insecure about who you are. If this issue hasn’t come up in your relationship than allowing the past of the person your dating affect you is your own insecurity. I advise that you not fix something that isn’t broken and learn to love yourself. If you decide to go straight I suggest that you find an experienced hair stylist that specializes in the technique called “Hair Silkening”.

Until next time,
