This will be my daughter’s first year of high school and she’s freaking out. She was a chubby girl from elementary through junior high and has since lost most of the weight. We’re both use to shopping for her old body and it seems that no matter what store we shop at nothing fits her right. This is a huge deal to us both because neither of us wants to relive her years of being teased for her weight. Can you please tell us what key items she should have to make this a successful first year of high school? Sharon - Cumberland, MD.
I love JCPenney, Wet Seal and Urban Outfitters for teens. All three stores offer quality clothing that have trendy and unique looks at affordable prices. Every teen wants to have a look of their own but also fit in. As your teen gets use to her new school and classmates you will see her start to develop her own look so get ready. Until then use my checklist of top 10 basic items needed to make this a great new school year.
Back to school list: 1.Slim Color Jeans 2.Slim Dark Wash Jeans 3.Cool Shades 4.Graphic or Strip Hoodie 5.Cool Tote 6.Screen Tee 7.Great Undergarments 8.Cool Accessories 9.Thin Scarf 10.Cropped Jacket
TIP: Never buy anything for her without her. This is a time in your teens life where self expression means everything (at the same time don’t allow her to get ridiculous in her self expression). Also, make sure that you start her off with three pair of shoes at the least (casual flat, slouch ankle boot, canvas shoe).
