Designer Review: Gareth Pugh

British Avant-Garde Designer Gareth Pugh is vastly becoming a household name and I like it. Although noted that he first came onto the fashion scene in London’s Fashion Week 2006 Show, I was first introduced to him in 2008 through one of my favorite superstars, Beyonce Knowles. In my opinion Pugh’s designs are matrix like intelligently crafted pieces of art that are solely created for the big screen, the catwalk or fashion music videos. I just previewed his Spring 2009 Ready-to-wear Collection and I am quite impressed with the imagination and art shown throughout his Collection. A person with an open mind and a heart for fashion will identify and appreciate that his pieces are well put together with great craftsmanship. Wikipedia reports that at the age of only 14 Pugh started creating costume designs so I now have an even greater respect for this British Designer. Bravo!
