Whether worn over a pencil dress or paired with tailored trouser jeans, pencil jeans or dress slacks, this fashion statement is Cropped and Dangerous. It is the most understated fashion trend soon to take the fashion world by storm from runway to sidewalk.
Introduced to the fashion world back in the 1940’s, this fashion trend like the LBD (Little Black Dress) will not ever go out of style because it’s look is timeless.
When wearing such a fashion statement make sure that you do not appear unbalanced. There are two ways to rock this look successfully. For the first look when you wear the shorter version of the cropped jacket, always wear a fitted tee or blouse that hits just above your thigh to give this a balanced look. Make sure that you do not over power this look with a shirt that has dramatic sleeves or a dramatic neck as the cropped jacket is a statement all on it‘s own. This look needs nothing more that a statement necklace, plain tee or blouse and is best worn with a pencil skirt or pencil jeans.
The second way to make this look work is to wear the longer version that hits your waist over a pencil dress or with a fuller pant or jeans such as the trouser jeans. Wearing it this way gives such a polished look that all you will need is a gorgeous oversized cuff bracelet or statement ring, a clutch purse and a mean pair of stilettos with a fierce pulled back hairstyle. Remember that wearing the second look without a longer tee or blouse will work as long as the jacket itself hits your waist and is loose at the bottom to create a balanced look.
Whether you are hippy or thin cropped jackets are a wardrobe MUST HAVE. If you do not have a cropped jacket either because you had no clue how to rock one or thought it was a fashion trend that you should pass. Trust me…get one, own one, invest in one. You can find these items at any fine department store or your local favorite fashion boutique.
