In recent weeks, the streets of Staten Island have become the latest celebrity sighting mecca. Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon are in town shooting their new film, You Don’t Know Jack.

Al Pacino portrays the infamous Dr. Jack Kevorkian, also known as Doctor Death because of his favorable stance on assisted suicide. Susan Sarandon has also been spotted filming around town while shooting with Mr. Pacino. Mariner’s Harbor residents Martin Sterling and Sean McLoyd were excited to see both stars filming on Richmond Avenue.

“I couldn’t believe what Al Pacino looked like,” Mr. Sterling said. “He looked very different than what I expected.”

Of course, New Yorkers are no strangers to seeing filming in the city. Recently, the fab four trendsetters on Sex and The City have been photographed shooting their upcoming movie. And back in May, Nicolas Cage’s new movie, The Soceror’s Apprentice, made headlines when a car jumped the curb, not once, but twice in three days.  According to the Huffington Post, at least nine crew members and two pedestrians were injured in the accidents.

Let’s hope Mr. Pacino and Ms. Sarandon have a less eventful shooting experience in Staten Island.
