Cigarette smoking is extremely harmful for your body.  Not only do cigarettes lead to many forms of cancer, but there are bodily functions that are damaged from constantly smoking cigarettes as well.  Killing more people than car accidents, alcohol, AIDS, suicide, homocide, and illegal drugs, tobacco is responsible for 87% of lung cancer mortalities.

Smoking cigarettes will heighten the risk of heart disease, emphysema, strokes and aneurysms.  Not only do cigarettes severely cut days off of your life, but they can critically deter women from having healthy babies.  Cigarette smoking during pregnancy leads to premature birth, miscarriage and is a cause of low birth-weight.

Cigarette smoking makes you look cool though right?  Wrong!  Smoking cigarettes does not make you any cooler than you already are, if anything, it detracts from your personality.  Smoking is a main cause of many dental problems such as gum diseases, rotting teeth, and yellow teeth.  Also, smoking cigarettes has a detrimental effect on your blood flow as well.  It has been studied that smoking cigarettes slows the blood flow, causing erectile dysfunction and poor blood flow in the arms and legs.

So, before you buy your next pack, think about what it's doing to your body.  And remember, just because it says "Light" doesn't mean that it's any less worse for you.
