
Swine flu shot updates:
Just in! Preliminary data from the first clinical studies shows that the new swine flu shot gives strong immunity after just one shot. This is good news as it was predicted that two shots would be needed, 3 weeks apart. Children, however, may still need the two shots - data is not firm for their age group yet.
If you're a home care or health care worker, you can't afford to NOT get this vaccine as swine flu is highly contagious and can be deadly to the elderly. Interestingly though, the elderly population appears to have some immunity in their own right (they probably have been exposed at some time to the flu but didn't even know what it was 'back in the day'!).
