McLean Project for the Arts, hosts their annual, juried, outdoor art festival, ArtFest,  in McLean Central Park, at the intersection of Dolly Madison Boulevard (Route 123) and Old Dominion Drive this weekend, October 4th, from 10am-5pm.
The Gazebo stage will host live performances throughout the event, enjoy refreshments from a variety of food vendors, exhibitions from local schools in the Children's ArtWalk, senior artwork displays, hands-on art activities for children, local politicos will be out in force, and, of course, the often truly stunning work of the juried artists, which is also for sale.
Set within the beautiful woods of the McLean Central Park, this event is a local tradition, easy to get to, and golf cart shuttles are conveniently running between the parking lot of the McLean Community Center and the festival, so you can really enjoy the artwalk when you get there.
Admission is free, but donations are very gladly accepted. I've been to this event for the past several years and while considerably smaller than similar shows in Bethesda and Reston, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in quality.
