Oregon’s premier foodie event is this weekend at Waterfront Park.

The Bite of Oregon is the signature culinary event of the year that features dozens of Oregon best restaurants, wineries and craft beers along with outstanding chefs demonstrating their craft  and entertainment from August 7 -9 2009.

Some of the vendors participating this year are Boyd’s coffee, Chef de Cuisine society, Greek Cuisina, H05 Bistro and bar, Moonstruck Chocolate, PK Thai, Amity Winery, David Hill Winery, Sake One, Hip Chicks Do Wine, Willamette Valley Vineyards, and Bridgeport Brewing, Full Sail Brewing and Henry Wienhard Brewery in the craft beer garden. Each vendor will be featuring their best menus in food wine and beer.

Admission toThe Bite: $8.00 per adult and free for children 12 and under. For all three days pick up a super saver pass for $12.00 for adults. There are ways to save at The Bite including discount coupons at local Burgervilles and participating Bite vendors. Also go before 5 pm on Friday or after 5 pm on Sunday for special admission prices.

Getting to the Bite: If driving: *Heading south on I-5 into Portland: Take the Morrison Street exit. You will see The Bite in Waterfront Park to your left as you cross the Morrison Bridge. Look for parking as you enter downtown.

* Heading north on I-5 into Portland: Exit at Naito Parkway (formerly Front Avenue). Go straight ahead to the festival.

*Heading east on highway 26 into Portland: Get into the center lane before you get to the tunnel. Stay in that lane, which becomes SW Market. Stay on Market until your reach Naito Parkway (formerly Front Avenue)

However the easiest way to get The Bite of Oregon is to plan your trip by Trimet.
