Click on the About Us tab of Gillwoods' web page and an animated text line appears in the top right corner: "Simply the Best Breakfast in Town." In fact, year after year, in local "Best of" polls, Napa Valley residents cast their breakfast votes for Gillwoods.

The signature Gillwoods Scramble features two eggs scrambled with Applewood smoked bacon, mushrooms, chives, tomato, and cheddar and jack cheeses. This and many other breakfast entrees are served with a choice of home fried potatoes, breakfast potatoes or hash browns, and an amazing selection of bread choices that include some of the muffins pictured above. All of Gillwoods' breads, muffins and cinnamon rolls are baked in their own bakery and are available for individual purchase.

Gillwoods offers a variety of espresso drinks, however, their house coffee is outstanding and readily available for self-service while you wait for a table. On particularly busy days, if you don't want to stand in the lobby enjoying the coffee, they will provide you with a pager, so you can wander through the Napa Town Center.

Once you are seated, there is one thing you won't wait long for at Gillwoods: the food. In most cases, they will deliver it to your table so quickly you'll swear they made it for somebody else. Despite the lightning-fast service, no matter how busy the restaurant is, nobody will make you feel rushed to leave when you finish your last bite. The chapter you thought you'd read while you were waiting for breakfast to arrive? Get a coffee refill and read it when you're finished eating.

Once you try Gillwoods, it's likely the only reason you'll have breakfast anywhere else is to remind yourself that they do have the best breakfast in town.

Gillwoods Cafe is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and serves both breakfast and lunch; breakfast is served all day. It is located at 1320 Napa Town Center, in Napa, California.
