Cleveland and the International Association of Culinary Professionals
Every year several Cleveland and Northeastern Ohio food professionals make an annual trek to learn more about food trends and network with "foodies" from around the globe.
Finding better, more earth-friendly ways to feed a hungry planet will be the topic that draws us and more than 1,000 other food professionals to Denver this year for the International Association of Culinary Professionals’ 31st Annual International Conference. This event is scheduled 'from April 1-4, 2009 at the Sheraton Denver Hotel and Colorado Convention Center.
“Pioneering a Sustainable World” is the conference theme, and Denver is the ideal spot -- a place where culinary cultures are defined by a pioneer spirit birthed from rugged landscapes, determination, natural beauty and a commitment to sustainability and food artisanship. Here, the natural and organic food industry has staked its claim, and given rise to new solutions and sustainability advocates. "Green" has become the mantra for a city determined to preserve and protect the mountains' majesty as well as the global landscape.
Distinguished headliners will gather at the four-day conference to explore practical, sustainable solutions all along the food chain, from farm, to processing plant, to market. Innovative pioneers will share personal stories and visions about breaking with traditions in their field to create new practices with long-term benefits for the earth.
The IACP Conference also will feature workshops and forums of special interest to the various professional groups within the organization, which include chefs, food writers, cooking teachers, food photographers, food stylists, and other professionals in the culinary world.
With some 3,300 members from around the world, IACP is one of the world’s largest organizations for food professionals. A complete schedule of the conference and registration materials will available about the last week of January at www.iacp.com/conference.
