IndustryGamers has managed to get confirmation from Naughty Dog Creative Director Amy Hennig that gamers won't have long to wait for fresh Uncharted 2 content. As if Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (check out my review here) wasn't still keeping PS3 owners glued to their TVs, Hennig says of DLC "we're working on that now, and what we're prepared to say is that there will be DLC available before the end of the year."
Uncharted 2 is already a smashing critical and commercial success, so the fact that there would be additional content released was never really in doubt. However, we now have a definite time frame for the content's release and some details as to what it will entail. "It'll involve new maps, new characters, things like that. Some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable," says Hennig.
Naughty Dog had already stated that any DLC would focus on Uncharted 2's multiplayer component, as the single-player campaign is a self-contained and not easily expandable experience. Sounds good to me, I'd much rather have Naughty Dog working on a full-fledged Uncharted 3 adventure than some tacked-on single-player mission where Elena and Chloe reveal the mystery of how Drake's shirt manages to stay perfectly half-tucked through all those gunfights.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is now available exclusively for PS3. If you haven't already, buy it. Now.
