Bad Santa : The popular Billy Bob Thorton dark comedy has a two day release at The Grand Illusion, Friday and Saturday night at 11pm, with a free Bad Santa Cocktail Party beginning a half hour before each showing.

The Godfather : One of the greatest films of all time starts Friday at the SIFF. Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather is a must see, better than the hype, mob classic featuring dynamite performances by Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino and many more. Coppola’s direction is artful and commanding, aided by Mario Puzo’s script which is rich with memorable speeches and perfect one-liners.

The Dark Crystal : Jim Henson’s cult film The Dark Crystal is this weekend’s Egyptian midnight movie. The fantasy picture features many of the genres tropes, with lavish creatures, wizards and ancient prophecies, all boosted to a unique level but the stellar talents of the late Henson.
