I just returned from quite an adventure on the American Whiskey Trail through Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Distilled Spirits of the United States (DISCUS) organized a group of spirits/travel journalists on a trip through some of the top Whiskey and Bourbon distilleries in the world – and I didn’t even need a passport! While I’m organizing my endless photos and notes for some exciting stories, take a look at some of the places I visited…
George Washington’s Distillery;
George Dickel Distillery;
Jack Daniels Distillery;
Woodford Reserve Distillery;
Pendennis Club for Bulleit Tasting;
Maker’s Mark;
and the Jim Beam Outpost;
I will be providing lots of travel information in addition to some details on the Bourbon and Whiskey I sampled, but before you make your travel plans to the South on your own American Whiskey Trail, it’s time to start making arrangements to attend WhiskyFest New York.
WhiskyFest New York is being held on November 10th at the Marriott Marquis Time Square with representation of more than 200 whiskies – everything from Scotch and Bourbon to Japanese and Canadian. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about whiskey and, of course, taste it! And, before or after the event, allow some time to explore Manhattan – take in a play, do some shopping or visit a museum -- Times Square is the center of it all.
Tickets and more information for WhiskyFest New York are available on the event's website.
