After his summer blockbuster Land of the Lost failed to capture an audience, Will Ferrell is stepping behind the camera to write and produce a sitcom starring Jon Heder.

The actor best known for his role in the indie hit Napoleon Dynamite, will play an out-of-work IT specialist who returns to his small hometown to live with his parents and younger brother. The as-yet-untitled series will debut on Comedy Central in 2010 and has been described by the network as “groundbreaking.”

Considering this is the same network that enlightened us in the past with That’s My Bush and the forgettable The Naked Trucker and T-Bones Show, it’s doubtful “groundbreaking” carries any significant weight.
