Good news for fans of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Looks as if Russell Brand, who played the obnoxious rocker Aldous Snow in last year’s hit comedy, will return as host of the 2009 Video Music Awards. And who said the VMAs have lost all credibility?
Brand ran into some controversy as host last year when he made light of the fact that all the Jonas Brothers practice abstinence and wear purity rings to prove it. “This year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discrete orgasms,” he joked.
The award ceremony, which will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, will air on September 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
