Drea de Matteo is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives as the matriarch of a new Italian family. Best known for her work as Adriana on the Sopranos, in which she won the 2004 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Joanna Garcia is joining the hit CW show Gossip Girl as Bree Buckley, as a love interest for Chace Crawford’s character, Nate Archibald. Garcia was last seen on another CW program Privileged.
Chris Vance, currently the lead on the FOX show, Mental and previously on Prison Break, is heading to Burn Notice. Vance will play Gilroy, a former MI-6 operative and leader of a freelance black ops team.
Heading to 24 is former Battlestar Galatica actress Katee Sackhoff will play Dana Walsh, a data analyst for the new CTU New York branch. Also, Freddie Prinze Jr. has also signed on to play Davis Cole, head of CTU Field Ops and possibly Jack Bauer’s new protégé.
Smallville has cast Brian Austin Green (BAG) as Metallo, a kryptonite powered villain. BAG recently passed on a role for One Tree Hill and was previously seen as John Connor’s Uncle, Derek Reese on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
