Averaging a little over 5.6 million viewers this season (the season premier pulled in over 6 million) one of the best shows on television is Burn Notice. The USA original program follows Michael Westen, who was “burned” or wiped “off the grid.” Meaning he has no background history, no bank account and no identity. Michael is forced to live life in Miami, which conveniently is home to his mother, brother and a few friends, as he tries to piece back together why he was burned.
Burn Notice also contains a subplot for each show by placing Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) in situations where he can help ordinary people fix problems in their lives. Michael refers to these people as “clients” and with the help of love interest Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) and former intelligence agent Sam (Bruce Campbell), they solve these problems. Basically, the show is a mix between the A-Team and MacGyver but with “less cheese.” One recent client needed Michael’s help in saving his kidnapped child. Michael was able to infiltrate the kidnappers posing as a junky who had caught wind of the plan. He was then able to thwart the plan and save the child.
