Phil Brown is the editor of the Adirondack Explorer newsmagazine, a bimonthly publication with a focus on outdoor recreation and environmental issues. As part of the job, he is often out hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, or doing other important stuff. He is the owner of Lost Pond Press, which has published Bob Marshall in the Adirondacks, an anthology of Marshall’s writings collected by Phil, Adirondack Birding by Gary N. Lee and John M.C. Peterson, and Within a Forest Dark, a prize-winning novel by Michael Virtanen. Phil lives in Saranac Lake. He can be reached at philbrown@juno.com.
