Buy USA
The next time you shop for produce, be sure to look for the label of origin. There was much hoopla about it several months ago and a law was supposedly enacted that would force grocery stores to place information about the origin of any food in clear view for the consumer. However, that seems to have slacked off and more recently I haven't always found that information.
Countries other than the good old USA don't always adhere to safety issues with food concerning pesticides (produce), growth hormones and antibiotics (in meat). Rarely do they let the consumer know what chemicals they use and where the food is grown and under what circumstances. There are little or no regulations in most other countries and this includes Mexico.
So, buyer beware. Seek out that information the next time you buy grapes or cantaloupes or raspberries or tomatoes, etc., from outside the USA. You have no idea what was sprayed on the food you are purchasing, or the contaminated soil it was grown in.
