Mix together one chef with fresh ideas, a restaurant atmosphere that's contemporary and retro cool and a serving staff that's smoking hot -- and the resulting dish is a totally splendid place to enjoy brunch on the Sunset Strip any Saturday or Sunday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

RH at Andaz (www.westhollywood.andaz.com) is the lobby level restaurant located in the wonderfully re-energized former Hyatt on Sunset Hotel, which premiered in January as the Andaz West Hollywood.  This bright and inviting space features an open kitchen (Chef Sebastien Archambault is pictured above), a vibrant bar/lounge overlooking Sunset and numerous dining nooks decorated in a Star-Trek, space-age inspired black, silver and white accents with booth and table seating that is actually very comfortable.

The name RH pays homage to the old Hyatt's nickname of "Riot House" and the enthusiasm of both the serving and cooking staff really shines thru at brunch service. Plenty of creative surprises in standard favorites, like a kiss of grand mariner in the Mimosa cocktail and garlic in the RH Spicy Bloody, one of the best we've ever tasted! The freshly squeezed juices like pineapple mint are not to be missed. Mild and satisfying and quite a contrast to the sugary stuff found in bottles.

Chef Sebastien has turned the traditional brunch menu on its ear.  How about a fried egg on your Black Angus Burger?  Or an eye-opening Bloody Mary oyster shooter (3 per order) to wake you up!  And salad for breakfast? Yup, the RH features one that mixes Romaine, chicken, potato chips and peanut dressing with a fried egg on top. Hungry for a sandwich? The breakfast panini stuffed with omelet, cheddar, spinach and Canadian bacon is one of most requested brunch entrees.

Even the waffle offerings are out of the ordinary, including a sweet hazelnut waffle or savory potato waffle topped with smoked salmon, poached egg and dill cream.

RH is a great place to make a regular haunt because although the vibe is casual, service and food quality is 5-star. Valet parking flat rate for brunch is $7. If your weekend plans aren't solidified --  Why not plan for a brunch visit this Saturday or Sunday and celebrate Spring's arrival in delicious style.

Until our next food find...may all your food finds be fabulous!
