If the elves at your house haven't finished shopping for holiday party menus, put the significant other and the kids in the car this weekend and treat yourself to the Whole Foods Pasadena marketplace (465 South Arroyo Parkway, 626-204-2266, www.wholefoods.com), open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

This location is the largest and most abundant Whole Foods Market in the Southland, a full two stories (you can take your shopping cart up to the second level via its own escalator!) in size.  Check out the bakery and food court on the second level, the extensive wine offerings (we found our favorite Blond Lillet from France here), abundant cheese shop (doesn't cranberry cheddar sound scrumptuous) and a full grocery section.  On the first level, there's a plentiful fresh produce section with first-quality products and good values ($2.99 for a three pound bag of yams, rich in energy-giving Vitamin B) and one of the most well-stocked body & nutrition departments we've come across, with great gift-giving ideas including heavenly-smelling beeswax candles and luminaries.

Don't forget to pick up your Whole Deal newsletter at the store entrance - filled with coupons and the best deals the store offers. And there is plenty of safe, well-lighted parking underneath the store.

Need a last minute Christmas gift? The new Penguin Pail from Mrs. Fields (www.mrsfields.com, 1-800-Cookies) is sure to be appreciated by anyone on your list, chock full of packages of Mrs. Field's favorite cookie varieties, including oatmeal raisin walnut and peanut butter in miniature sizes perfect for your tea or coffee break.

Until our next food find...may all your food finds be fabulous!
