As a food writer, we are privileged to be able to know about some of the best and brightest food products even before they hit the general marketplace.  Here are ten food products introduced in 2008 that we consider to be top-flight!

(1)  Garlic Delight:  A creamy all natural, no-preservatives dip/spread from Los Angeles' own Frieda's, Inc., trendsetter for new introductions in the fresh produce category (www.friedas.com).

(2)  Garlic Gold Nuggets:  a shakeable new product that can be liberally sprinkled over sandwiches, salads, mashed potatoes, you name it, from  Garlic Gold in Ventura, CA(www.garlicgold.com).

(3)  Hunt's Tomato-Basil Sauce :  just mix with olive oil and you have a delicious and wonderfully easy pasta sauce (www.hunts.com).

(4)  Orville Redenbacher's Lime N Salt Popcorn:  this stuff is addictive (www.orville.com).

(5)  Good Belly Probiotic Fruit Drink:  because all good health starts in your digestic tract (www.goodbelly.com).

(6)  Crispy Cat:  the first organic candy bar on the market (www.crispycatcandybar.com).

(7)  Organic Sicilian Blood Orange Juice:  we predict these juice bottles will be flying off the shelves during the first quarter of 2009 (www.iojuice.com).

(8)  Melissa's White Truffle Oil:  perfect for adding a touch of class and that aromatic truffle flavor to omelettes, pastas or baked potatoes, from Los Angeles-based Melissa's (www.melissas.com), a leader in the fresh produce industry.

(9)  Rubyy Energy Drink:  it's authentic blood orange flavor is a winner and it's carbonation is refreshing (www.rubyy.com)

(10) Intentional Chocolate:  these candies are literally blessed with good wishes and good taste (www.intentionalchocolate.com).

Until our next food find....may all your food finds be fabulous!
